No Camera Needed

This past weekend I went to Las Vegas with my good friend Des and I left my camera home. I left it home deliberately. Sometimes when I have my camera with me, I feel like I am obligated to take lots of pictures and then I feel like I wasn't even a part of the event, I was more like the photographer of the event. This weekend I just wanted to relax and have fun.

But then, when I get home, how do I blog? Apparently very easily. You can now find a picture (probably better than one you can take) of anything on the internet thanks to online photo sites. So here is my trip to Las Vegas, photos compliments of ...?

On Friday we flew here...

and we checked in here...

I think I'll stay here next time!

On Saturday it was SO windy that we HAD to shop all day, so of course we went to Caesar's Forum Shops and

the M&M Store.

We also checked out the conservatory at Bellagio's

and decided to take a break at the Bellagio Cafe

We ordered Tiramisu and it was SO good!

That night, we had dinner here...
The food was amazing!

After dinner we ran (literally) to get to our show on time. The show was incredible!

Sunday we ate lunch at Nine Fine Irishmen inside New York, New York.

After a bit more shopping, we enjoyed drinks on Diablo's roof top bar while waiting for the airport shuttle.

It was a fabulous weekend! I am so glad I didn't have a camera.

10 Grands, I Say Priceless

Today the kids had the day off of school and Katie's piano teacher had arranged a field trip to a concert called 10 Grands. The concert consisted of four adults and six kids (the youngest was eleven I think) on ten grand pianos, all playing on one concert stage. It was AMAZING! If you could bottle the talent in that room, we could all fly to the moon.

The concert was put together ten years ago as a benefit to help fund music in the schools. If you get a chance to see it, I highly recommend it. If you'd like to contribute you can find out more at...

Do you know?

Do you know what's worse than Monday?
Monday after Spring Break.
I hardly slept last night, I'm exhausted.
It could be because this boy...

is off to Outdoor School at the beach this week.
Or it could be because this girl...

is back at school all day.
I wish I were still here...

or here...

or here...

with them...

What is Going On!

As you know, we haven't had cable television for at least 10 years.  I can't remember if we had it before that or not.  But for the most part we don't miss it. We get a day or two here and there of cable when we stay at hotels and I never feel like we are really missing anything.  I watch the news and read the paper so I think that I am up on what is happening in the world. Pete does have to get creative to keep up with sports, sometimes the game is on the radio, or he can check online for scores and highlights or sometimes he just has to wait for the paper to come in the morning to find out who won. Anyway, last Saturday cable magically appeared at our house. At first we thought it might be a free weekend, but the weekend has lasted more than a week now and the cable is still here. Everyday that we wake up and see that all those channels are still working feels like a gift. A gift that we are cherish because we know it's not here to stay.

So, last night, I am watching TLC and a show about some family with a dozen kids comes on. Come to find out, they don't have a dozen, they actually have 13 and she is pregnant with number 14! I'm thinking o.k. that's one crazy family, no wonder they have their own reality show. But then the show ends and the next show is about a family with 17 kids and they are expecting their 18th! Now I am thinking that TLC has found the two largest families on the planet, but NO, there's more!  That family has friends visit and they have 16 kids and are expecting the 17th.  After this one ends the next is Jon & Kate plus 8!  I am just left thinking what is going on ? When did this happen? When did having more than 8 kids become so popular? It's no wonder the Octuplets Mom thought she could raise 14 kids and everything would be fine. I bet she has cable. What else have we missed not watching cable? Maybe I should call and get it turned off.
