Cute or Creepy?

Pete and I have been married for 14 years and as you can imagine there are lots of things that we don't agree on.  Opposites attract, or so they say.  But every year in October we are reminded that there are some things that we share the exact same feelings about.  One of those things is Halloween costumes.  We don't like them.  We don't like to wear them and don't particularly enjoy being around others who wear them.  I find them uncomfortable, creepy and just slightly disturbing, especially masks!  Sometimes, even on my own children.

Fab Field Trip

Last Friday I went on a fabulous field trip with David.  His school went to the Ape Cave Lava Tube at Mt. St. Helens.  The hike is about 3/4 of a mile long and is completely underground. It was scary and amazing all at the same time! The tube was created about 2,000 years ago. At one point we turned off all of our flashlights and experienced "absolute darkness".  It was a strange sensation. If you ever get the chance to visit, take it! You won't regret it.

Ok, as Rachael mentioned, David doesn't look too thrilled in this photo.  But what you can't see in the picture is that the entire middle school is standing in the park and seeing David getting his picture taken.  So, this is David trying to look cool!

Her New Look

Katie's school had a fundraising campaign recently and when they met their goal, the Principal announced that he would be coloring his hair "rainbow" and that they could color theirs too! 

Here is Katie's new look. David is SO jealous, he could barely look at his sister.
